About Terry Herring

When Terry Herring was a little boy, his grandmother taught him the importance of making decisions from both the head and the heart. He was advised to find solutions to problems by keeping all aspects of a particular situation in mind. The foundation that his grandmother instilled in him guided Terry Herring during his career in pharmaceuticals.

Terry Herring first earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating magna cum laude from The Citadel – The Military College of South Carolina in 1986. He then pursued a Master of Business Administration in Pharmaceutical Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Unable to complete his degree there due to an employment relocation, Terry Herring completed his Master’s thesis at Pacific Western University in 1994. Understanding the importance of higher education, Herring attained a Graduate Certificate in Multimedia Advanced Technology from Mercer University School of Engineering in 1996. In 1997, he obtained a Graduate Certificate in International Marketing from Duke University and London Business School.

Accomplished with a rich work experience, Terry Herring has held positions in various organizations. At Solvay Pharmaceuticals, he functioned as Regional Business Director, Director of Training and Development, Director of Operations and Trade Affairs, and Director of Customer Marketing. He also worked with Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals as Training Manager, Hospital Sales Manager, and Trade Relations Manager.

In addition, Terry Herring was employed for more than a decade with inVentiv Health. His initial positions with the organization included National Business Director of the Sales and Marketing team and Vice President and General Manager of Sales. Later promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of inVentiv Commercial Services, LLC,. a subsidiary of inVentiv Health, he was named President and Chief Operating of the parent company in 2007. In January of 2010, Herring joined Mission Pharmacal Company as President.
